Reproductive health issues – PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids….

Female reproductive system illustration

Reproductive health issues are more prevalent today than ever before. So many women suffer in silence without ever truly understanding what it is that causes their endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, breast density, cysts, infertility and more.

These conditions are so grossly misunderstood that women often go years and years, seeing doctor after doctor, with no answers to their symptoms. Many of these conditions get labelled as “hormonal problems’’, in other words “cause unknown’’, leaving women feeling distraught and in search of answers.

But there are answers and women are healing from reproductive issues when they have access to the correct information. And whilst each of the reproductive issues mentioned above is a topic in it’s own right, lets begin with an overview of what causes these symptoms and conditions and how you can heal from them.

Most reproductive symptoms, conditions and diseases are caused by pathogens, that is viruses and bacteria, with the most common culprit being Epstein Barr Virus (EBV). EBV is a virus in the herpes family and there are over sixty different varieties of EBV alone. And while some strains are very mild and may never cause a symptom, others are more aggressive and fast moving. It is these strains that are responsible for some of the most serious illnesses of our time.

One of the biggest issues with EBV is that it is hard to detect. Even if you’re really suffering with your health, it may still go undetected because unless it is active in the blood stream, it can be hard to detect using current medical testing, especially if it is not specifically being tested for. And just because a virus is not active in the bloodstream, or once was in the past, doesn’t mean it is not causing havoc in the organs. This is what viruses do when they are not active; they nestle into the organs and hide. But even in their so-called dormant state, they can still cause harm behind the scenes.

And so this is what happens when EBV targets the reproductive system. In its second phase (there are four altogether) it enters the reproductive organs, which is what sets the scene for later fertility and reproductive issues.

Another major contender, alongside pathogens, is toxic accumulation in the reproductive system. The reproductive system collects a huge amount of toxic waste, especially toxic hormones such as foreign oestrogen from foods, plastics and other petrochemicals, which build up in the reproductive system and confuse the body.

For example, in the case of endometriosis, a condition whereby the endometrial cells migrate from the lining of the uterus and start growing outside of it, the migrating cells move in an attempt to transport toxic waste out of the uterus. Remember that the uterus is the maker of life, so the body will do everything it can to keep this space clean. And when you can see it from this perspective, it is a reminder of how beautifully our bodies try to protect us.

In the case of PCOS, this is a condition caused by EBV, whereby fluid is released from the ovaries to fight the virus, and in some women this fluid becomes cysts that the virus continues to live and grow inside. As these cysts develop, they put a strain on the immune system, allowing EBV to move more quickly into its stage three, where it disrupts the thyroid. This is why PCOS and thyroid issues often occur side by side.

There is so much more to discuss around this topic but rather than cause overwhelm with information overload, I will give each condition a little more air-time over the weeks ahead. But for now, lets look at what you can do to heal.

CELERY JUICE

Yes, good old celery juice, I know it is hard to believe that it has so many healing benefits, but think about how one medicinal herb can contribute towards the healing of many different conditions. Celery juice is no different and when it comes to reproductive issues, it is NUMBER ONE! Here is why:

  • Stops the pathogens that are responsible for most reproductive disorders.

  • Removes the toxins that are also partly responsible.

  • Binds onto, neutralises and escorts toxic hormones out of the reproductive organs.

  • Nourishes and feeds the reproductive system on all levels, from restoring cells to balancing healthy hormones to providing nutrients and trace minerals to reproductive organs and glands.

  • Hydrates the reproductive system, which is also a major factor in where it can go wrong. According to Anthony William, the reproductive system ages faster than many other parts of the human body and one of the reasons why is chronic dehydration of its cells.

LOW SALT

This prevents chronic dehydration of the reproductive system. Too much salt in the diet pickles the organs and causes them to age and shrivel. Try getting your salts from greens, such as celery juice, cucumber and leafy greens, which are packed with natural mineral salts that the body needs.

LOW FAT

The body cannot detoxify the junk if you keep putting fat in the way. One of the reasons why the reproductive system gets clogged with toxic load is because the liver and lymphatic system are overburdened. To de-burden these organs, we must allow for the process of detoxification, which is hindered by fat.

PLANT-BASED DIET

While you are healing plant based is highly recommended, as the potential for consuming foreign hormones and toxic heavy metals will be greatly reduced.

HIGH FRUIT DIET

Fruit is one of the biggest healers of the reproductive system. A baby is the fruit of the reproductive system and your entire reproductive system thrives on fruit! Fruit also helps to restore the liver and the adrenals, two major pieces of the jigsaw puzzle when it comes to healing reproductive and fertility issues.
